READY TO ROLL was a groundbreaking pilot film school initiative developed by Run of the Mill in collaboration with the National Talent Academy for Film and Television, Arcade Film and Maynooth University, supporting 13 participants to access a 12-week programme designed to facilitate an introduction to the world of filmmaking and identify areas of interest. Collaborating with leading industry facilitators, guest collaborators and stakeholders, participants explored a range of topics including Set Etiquette, Casting, and Acting for Camera.
The programme gave artists with intellectual disabilities and a background in theatre a chance to develop their skills in a new art form. Working alongside film professionals, participants explored how their performance experience could translate to the screen, as well as other aspects of filmmaking, including how film sets work. A series of six videos made by Arcade Film captures the work with guest facilitators and offers a glimpse into the programme.
